Cookies tab

This tab is shown in Progress and Statistics window and displays the list of all cookies sent or received during loading and viewing of the current document, both blocked and not blocked by Ad Annihilator. Cookies are added to this list automatically while new cookies sent or received. See How to block cookies? and How to unblock cookies? for more information on cookie blocking and unblocking.

List structure

There are following columns displayed in the list:

• "Host" - the host from which the cookie was sent or received;

• "Expires" - date and time at which this cookie expires. For session cookies "Session" is written here. If cookie type has been undetected, this column is empty. See Privacy on the web to learn about cookie expiration dates;

• "Blocked" - indicates if the cookie was blocked by Ad Annihilator;

• "Type" - cookie type that can be either "First-party", "Third-party" or "Session". If all cookie types of this cookie direction are enabled for the current site, "Undetected" is shown in this column to speed up browsing. For example, if this cookie is outgoing and all outgoing cookies are enabled (first-party, third-party and session), Ad Annihilator does not detect cookie types. • "Direction" - cookie direction that can be either "Incoming" or "Outgoing". See Privacy on the web to learn about cookie direction;

• "Value" - cookie name and value delimited by equals sign. This column shows what is contained in the cookie and sent or received from the web server.

Legend

Cookies shown in the list are marked by the following icons:

• - the cookie was blocked and has not been actually sent or received;

• - the cookie was allowed and has been sent or received.

Cookies tab toolbar

There are following buttons on Cookies tab toolbar:

• "Block cookies from current site" - blocks cookies from the site which page is currently opened in this browser window;

• "Unblock cookies from current site" - unblocks cookies from the site which page is currently opened in this browser window;

• "Block cookies of this type" - blocks all cookies of the types corresponding to cookies selected in the list when browsing the current site. The cookie type is shown in Type and Direction list columns. All cookies of the types shown there are blocked;

• "Unblock cookies of this type" - blocks all cookies of the types corresponding to cookies selected in the list when browsing the current site;

• "Find blocking filter" - does the same as similar option in Cookies tab context menu.

If you hold Shift key when clicking blocking or unblocking button, Cookie filter item properties window opens after cookie filter addition where you can fine-tune cookie filter settings.

Cookies tab context menu

Cookies tab context menu is shown when you right-click a document or a resource in the Cookies tab:

Use Cookies tab context menu to perform cookie-specific operations. Following options are available:

• "Block cookies of this type" - does the same as similar button on Cookies tab toolbar;

• "Unblock cookies of this type" - does the same as similar button on Cookies tab toolbar;

• "Find filter" - locates the filter that affects blocking or unblocking of the selected cookie in Cookie filters tab. This command allows you to diagnose filter processing and find errors in your filter structure. See Understanding cookie filters to learn about cookie filters.
